Weekly Re-cap 10/17/2011

A glimmer of light from Europe helped rally the US markets last week. We expect to see continued volatility moving forward, as the focus on US 3rd quarter earnings season kicking off. Retail Sales were better than expected and jobless claims edged a bit lower. Negatives that still loom is a weak Consumer Sentiment number and the trade deficit has remained unchanged since August. Look for PPI and CPI numbers next week followed up by the housing starts and existing sales.
